It is getting warmer which means it is time to prepare for the two annual summer events here in Connecticut Connecticut Trails Day is part of a larger, national effort aimed towards the use and promotion of our parks and trails. Many events will be held throughout the state the weekend of June 5th. For our part, we would like to welcome both new and seasoned geocachers to Day Pond State Park. Entry fees to the park are waived for Trails Day Located in Kettletown State Park, this event is sure to be the biggest ever seen in this area. Bring your canoe or kayak and search for water caches or cross the river and search for caches in Paugussett State Park. There are also night caches, events, camping and many land caches. |

This year there are several Connecticut holiday series to keep your caching season festive... - For the fifth year in a row, the holiday classis CACHEMAS series has begun. JAMM combined a holiday theme with family-friendly caches for a fun series that draws crowds.
- The Grinch showed up for the second year in a row in an attempt to steal Christmas spirit with his own series, GRINCHMAS.
- For the first time, a HANNUCACHE has also been published.
- Lastly, the 12 PAINS OF CHRISTMAS have been placed in Groton by G13 to commemorate the classi song.
These series should keep everyone plenty busy over the holiday season! See you on the trails! |

Well, it seems as though there was enough of a call to connect the site to Twitter (ok, there was one person calling for it, but it was enough). So, while the site itself is not "on Twitter" we do now monitor what a cross section of tweeters (?) in the CT geocaching community are saying. This is all thanks to RJFerret's CT Geocacher list . Thanks Randy! |

Well, as everyone is aware it is the summer which means tick season. This season seems like there unusually high number of ticks, so everyone needs to be careful. As geocachers, we are a lot more exposed to these little vermon more so than the normal hiker because of where we typically go for our caches. There are a lot of great websites out there on what to do if you git bitten by a tick, or have the famous "bulls-eye", but of course prevention is always the best policy.

The first ever CCC Geocaching TEAM League has drawn to a close. The results are in, no one agrees with them or likes them, there are mass protests, The A is on suicide watch and we wouldn't have it any other way. We are after all, the home of the inept! |

We've found a pretty nice Geocaching pamphlet that would be very handy to have on hand to give to muggles or people you're trying to get interested in our sport. The pamphlet is a PDF and can be downloaded from here. It is also now available from the menu at the very top of this page, the link is titled GC Handout. |
